What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic restores proper function to your body. When your body is functioning optimally you are considered to be healthy. Every function in your body is under control of the nervous system, which sends messages to all the cells, tissues, and organs of the body. The daily stresses in your life can cause irritation to the nervous system and interfere with the messages that your cells need in order to function at 100%.
Chiropractors find these areas of nerve irritation, which we call subluxations, and restore proper communication within the nerve system by making a specific, gentle adjustment. The chiropractic adjustment removes interferences within the body and allows the innate intelligence of your body to work at an optimal level, letting your healing capacity express itself to its fullest potential.
Do you need chiropractic care?
Virtually anyone who has a spine can benefit from chiropractic care! Regardless of the disease, symptom or condition your body functions better if nerve irritations (subluxations) are removed. Instead of treating disease or symptoms, the goal of chiropractic is to enhance your health by restoring and maintaining a healthy nerve supply. By achieving this goal, it is well known that conditions such as headaches, low back and neck pain have been improved.
However, chiropractic is not just effective for pain relief, people with all kinds of health problems have been helped by chiropractic care, including children with ear infections, colic, asthma, and ADD; pregnant mothers with breech fetal presentation; and others with arthritis, disc herniations, and even the common cold.
But chiropractic can even help you if you have NO SYMPTOMS! Symptoms are the last indication of a problem, so you can’t rely on them to tell you if you are sick or well. Only a chiropractor can detect and correct subluxations that may be silently contributing to a reduced state of health.
